You could try adding the proper dating methods google provides and use feedburner to make sure google picks your news up first before the scappers can get to it. It's a free service.

Google has turned into Microsoft - they succeeded the first decade by innovation that added value to consumers' lives, but now just throw their weight around and whore themselves to corporate America. I suggest searching with DuckDuckGo.

Once again, yet another glitch is found in the way Google conducts its business. The idea of the small guy being the originator of the story of article and being dropped from the Index...that is just crazy. It seems that perhaps Google need some serious competition. We need a new player or a team of partners who can offer an alternative to what Google are currently doing on SERPS and SEO. Its either their way or no way. We need another choice. And one that is more fair and transparent. I heard that Mocosoft, Yahoo and a third player are planning an advertising partnership over display ads. It should see plenty of sign ups.

Google were already caught over the "White Lists" fiasco, allowing some companies to be effectively immune to the effects of the Panda Update. If your business is big and powerful enough, it seems you can get away with more. And a whole other more stricter set of rules for the rest of us. Google is being taken now to the European court over its seemingly questionable practices, as the Panda update nearly put some companies out of business. Thanks for a great article.

I work with a client that owns a popular, highly respected nutrition blog. He's being out-ranked by scrapers for his own original content.

This has always been an issue in one way or another, but Panda appears to have exacerbated the issue quite noticably.
